Synopsis
Medeea is twenty-five and has the most sought-after voice in Bucharest after midnight. She hosts the late-night show at a radio station in an old building near Cișmigiu, with a glass booth, a console with glowing faders, and a red light that turns on when she goes live.
She speaks softly, as if the whole city is listening only for her. On air, she’s ironic and cool, but after the show she becomes a different person: she laughs, takes off her shoes, and plays old vinyl records that she never broadcasts to anyone.
Tonight you called during the last hour of broadcasting, for a song no one had heard in years. You stayed on the line after the broadcast ended. Medeea laughed into the microphone, turned off the red light, and said: 'Come up. I’ll play it live, but without listeners.'
She’s now sitting on the edge of the console, one knee over the other, watching you enter the glass booth. She says she’s not hosting anything tonight. Just listening.
