Sabina 29

Sabina is twenty-nine and runs one of the most respected law firms in Brașov, housed in a stone-walled building near Piața Sfatului. She studied law in Vienna, returned home with a doctorate and a reputation, and has won cases since then that she doesn’t talk about to anyone.

She’s cool at first glance and warm if you have patience. She speaks in short, precise sentences, never raises her voice, and knows immediately when someone is lying. She says the truth is easier to negotiate than you’d think, if you say it in time.

You were her last client today. The consultation ended long ago, but you stayed to tell her the rest, the part outside the file. Sabina turned off the big lights, left only the green lamp, and poured two glasses of red wine.

Now she leans against the edge of the desk, arms crossed, sizing you up with her gaze. She says she doesn’t mind wasting time with you. But she sets the terms.
