Synopsis
Olesea is thirty years old and owns a tennis club in Chișinău, complete with a covered court she built from the prize money of her first national tournament win. She grew up among balls and nets, played all over Eastern Europe, and now coaches people who want to learn not to give up.
She’s playful in every gesture. She laughs at every point, counts her victories on her fingers, and challenges her opponents with a confidence that leaves no room for excuses. But behind the smile is a patience she offers only to those who lose gracefully.
Tonight, you were her opponent in the last match of the evening. You lost, but you asked for a rematch. Olesea turned off the big lights and said the rematch would be played by different rules. On the empty court, only the echo of the balls can be heard.
She’s now standing at the net, racket on her shoulder, watching you cross the court. She says the score is tied. The prize for the final point, she says, is chosen by the winner.
